Wednesday 28th we’re going to Manchester to participate in the Asylum: Action and Reaction Conference, an activity organized by Asylum Magazine. Our mates Bea Pérez and Hernán Sampietro will be from 13:30h to 14:30h in the Creative Responses, Break-out session, with Jen Kilyon.
Our speech will be “ActivaMent: A first person movement in Catalonia, current activities and problematizations”. A brief introduction to our model of mental health activism, to open the debate about some questions concerning to heteronomus identity and first person activism, the politizacition of malaises, diversity of voices, self-representation and fight for our rights.
In the Asylum: Action and Reaction Conference will participate, among others, Joanna Moncrieff, John Read, Helen Spandler and Rufus May.
Asylum is a quarterly not-for-profit publication that proposes this forum for debate about mental health and psychiatry. The magazine contains articles, cartoons, news and comments and a creative writing section, covering controversial issues around psychiatry, particularly focus on content that would not be found in the mainstream press.
